Weekend Cat Blogging #33!

What the heck, I figure if I'm gonna be part of Blogland, I should participate in the fun Blogland stuff that I see on other blogs. So, courtesy of Clare Eats's Weekend Cat Blogging #33, I present to you our household felines!

Meet Trixie:
Trixie is four and a half years old with amazingly long, white whiskers. She is the first cat owned by me and therefore will always be my secret favorite. When she was younger, she loved really loud noises, especially ones coming from electronics. Although she is a bit more of a scaredy-cat nowadays with the loud noises, she is still fascinated with all things electronic. She also loves to chew on metal--her favorite snack is my friend Gregg's bicycle. She has an allergy to something in the house and licks/scratches herself about half her awake time. We are beginning to suspect that she may be allergic to wool, which would be bad since our huge familyroom rug is made of wool and we really can't afford to replace it. She likes to play with Colin and makes very angry sounds while playing; it took me many weeks to realize that she wasn't truly as annoyed at him as she sounds. Her nicknames, as I've stated before, are Trixalina, First Cat, The Kittenhead, and Kit-Tan, The Tan Kit (don't ask, I'm just weird).

This is Colin:
He's only five and a half months old and just weighed in at the vet's at 6.3 lbs. We got him from the local cat shelter a few days after I quit my job in November ("kitten project!") completely on the spur of the moment. We didn't expect to actually bring a kitten home that afternoon but that's what happened! I've never owned an orange tabby before and what everyone says about orange male tabbies is certainly true about him: super sweet and loving personality. I loooooove this little guy! He curls up in bed with us at night and purrs himself loudly to sleep. He has the wimpiest, teeniest meow in the world; it makes him sound like he is being so put upon and resigned to his horrible fate of being cuddled. His favorite activities are skidding across the room at top speed, pushing toy mice out of sight under the liquor cabinet, fucking with Trixie, and curling up in his little wicker basket for a nap. His nicknames are Kaptain Kurious Oranj, Second Cat, Little Stack of Pancakes, and "Ow, that's my leg, you little fucker!"

I will never live without cats in my life.

Be sure and check out Chubbie at Kristi's Interrupted Wanderlust, New Cat at Susan Farmgirl's place, and of course, all the other cats at Clare Eats, our WCB host!

I like the lip gloss Colin is wearing! Is that DuWop? I think it's cool he's so comfortable with his masculine felinity to y'know, "glam it up" for the camera.

Hi clare eats! I will leave you my permalink next time around (alas, next weekend I will be away from a computer!). I just now figured out that my permalink is the time stamp on my posts; I couldn't figure it out before!
