We decided it was okay to finally make the announcement . . .

BW and I are engaged! We are celebrating five years of dating as of today so it's sort of nice to announce it today, of all days.

Nope, we haven't worked out any details of when, where, and what we will actually do. We haven't even told family yet (I will as soon as I post this!) but some friends already know. And now y'all know! I just thought I'd share this with Blogland.

    It's pretty exciting around the house today! That's all I can say!

    The cats are impulsively jumping up on the counter - trying to swipe some oatmeal, or butter.

    I think it's a traditional cat gesture of good fortune.

    I feel smug about knowing this already, via Ingloriously Human (though she didn't make it obvious, I don't think ... I can't remember if she flat-out said it was you or I figured it out). I was in the know! It was so fun! Like a secret society! And then you had to go and ruin it.

    Congratulations! You know that you'll need a ring bearer, some cute little person to carry the rings on a pillow while the flower girl strews rose petals about. I nominate... ME! I'm cute, I'm little, I'm a person... Sure, I'm a balding 35-year-old, and it would be undeniably creepy, but oh so memorable!
